Join the Penn State Extension Master Watershed Stewards as we ride the Perkiomen Trail. This 12-mile out and back ride will provide an opportunity to learn more about our watershed and how we can protect it. The tour will take place on a beautiful section of the Perkiomen Trail between Collegeville and Schwenksville. This section of trail is mostly flat and the surface is hard packed gravel with some paved sections. It is suitable for gravel, hybrid or mountain bikes. You must supply your own bike and bike helmet and be at least 18 years of age.
We will meet in the parking lot adjacent to Troubles End Brewing in Collegeville. From there we will ride to Schwenksville where we will learn about riparian buffers and see an example of a rain garden. We will stop once more on the way back to learn about plastics in our environment. We will then return to Collegeville, and at the conclusion of the ride, will gather at Troubles End Brewing to enjoy some snacks and learn what we can do to control storm water runoff and reduce flooding in our area.
Date: Sunday October 11, 2026
Location: Start and end at Troubles End Brewing; 50 W Third Ave, Collegeville, PA 19426 - We will meet at the back of the parking lot; look for the blue and white Penn State signs
Check In: Between 9:00 and 9:30; the event is expected to take approximately 3 – 3 ½ hours
Included: Light snacks at Troubles End after the ride, beverages are on your own.
