Perki-Bay Expedition
Description:
The Perki-Bay expedition is a 5-day canoe trip where members of our youth conservation program paddle the Perkiomen Creek from the Conservancy headquarters in Schwenksville to the cusp of the Delaware Bay. Our goal for this expedition is to highlight the Perkiomen Creek’s official designation as a new Pennsylvania State Water Trail and to generate increased community support for the protection of the creek.

About Perkiomen Watershed Youth Conservation Corps
The Perkiomen Watershed Conservation Corps (PWCC) program is a youth-based program dedicated to furthering the Perkiomen Watershed Conservancy’s mission of protecting the watershed’s land and water resources. Members help achieve this mission while cultivating their own conservation and community engagement skills through the participation in hands-on service learning opportunities.
The PWCC program cycle is six months, running from January - June each year.

During this workshop, participants will learn about a variety of native plant and herb species that specifically support local butterflies! Learn about which native plant and herb species you can plant together in your garden to support butterflies in all of their life stages! Participants will sow two different types of seeds, dill seeds and golden Alexander seeds, in two inch containers to grow for their gardens.

- Your Backyard or Garden!!
Celebrate National Pollinator Week from June 16th - 22nd with the Conservancy! National Pollinator Week is an annual celebration highlighting the vital role that pollinators play in our ecosystems, economies, and agriculture. In honor of this week long pollinator-palooza, the Conservancy will be hosting several volunteer opportunities and education events focused on local lepidoptera, including kicking off the Perkiomen Backyard Butterfly Survey citizen science project.
Get involved by spending 15 minutes in a sunny section of your yard or garden observing and recording any butterflies you see! Data can be submitted on the Conservancy’s website: https://www.perkiomenwatershed.org/dragonfly-farm

PWCC Monthly Meeting
Description:
PWCC members attend monthly meetings to discuss and learn more about the conservation projects and community events they participate in. Monthly meetings are held the first Tuesday of each month beginning in January and ending in June. The meetings are held from 6:30 pm - 7: 30 pm at the Perkiomen Watershed Conservancy Headquarters.
