Saturday, July 25th!
During this workshop, participants will learn about a variety of native plant and herb species that specifically support local butterflies! Learn about which native plant and herb species you can plant together in your garden to support butterflies in all of their life stages! Participants will sow two different types of seeds, dill seeds and golden Alexander seeds, in two inch containers to grow for their gardens.

Dragonfly Farm at Reiff Park - the workshop will be held in the larger greenhouse closest to the farmhouse.

Parking:
Please park in the gravel lot behind the white barn with the red roof. Please park in the grass along the parking area, as needed.
What to Wear:
Please wear clothes and shoes that you do not mind getting dirty! Participants might get slightly dirty during the seed sowing portion of the workshop.
What to Bring:
Please bring a box or container that you can transport your containers of sowed seeds home in. Feel free to bring your own gloves, if you’d like.

Love Plants? Love Kayaking? This program smashes them together for an unforgettable field experience. Join us for this one-of-a-kind program led by Naturalist Kathy Salisbury on Green Lane Reservoir. This is your chance to get out on the water AND totally geek out on PA Natives!
NO kayaking experience necessary. Cost includes kayak rental (with paddle and pfd - of course). Note: You must use our kayaks due to the vessel quarantine restrictions on the reservoir.
Location: Walt Road Day Use Area @ Green Lane Reservoir
Dates: Sunday, July 26th
Time: 9 am to 12 am
Notes: Wear appropriate clothing for conditions. Inclement weather, including wind and rain, will cancel the event. In this case, all participants will receive a full refund.

Saturday, August 8th!
Join the Conservancy for an evening of adventure at Dragonfly Farm at Reiff Park! Attendees will participate in a guided night hike around Reiff Park while using LED blacklights to spot insects inhabiting the park in their natural habitat! Please bring a headlamp or flashlight! After our stroll, participants will get to enjoy two mothing stations equipped with special mothing lights and sheets. Bring your headlamp, camera, and sense of adventure!

Please wear clothes and shoes that you can walk on uneven terrain in! Please bring a headlamp or flashlight along with you!!
What to Bring:
In addition to a headlamp or flashlight, feel free to bring moth ID books, a camera, and anything else you’d like for the mothing event. The Conservancy will have a few LED blacklight flashlights for folks to use on the hike, but please bring your own if you have one!
Thursday, July 30th!
Join us for a hands-on workshop where you’ll learn how to build and install a rain barrel at home! Each participant will leave with a fully assembled rain barrel, ready to install and start using right away.
Rain barrels collect rainwater from your downspout for reuse around your home, perfect for watering plants, cleaning yard equipment, or other outdoor needs. This simple, sustainable solution helps reduce household water use while also decreasing stormwater runoff.
All materials and tools will be provided, including a 55-gallon hard plastic drum. Staff will guide you step by step through the building and installation process, making this workshop beginner-friendly.

Older than dinosaurs and cooler than a cucumber... Join us for a little adventure as we dive into the understory to search out these native wonders! This is your chance to learn a little more about these often overlooked and underappreciated forest friends. Please wear appropriate footwear for walking on a rooty trail. Plan to cover about 2 miles at an easy pace.
