Perkiomen Rain Barrel Art Contest

Transform an ordinary rain barrel into a work of art while supporting watershed conservation!

Creativity Meets Conservation

Join the Perkiomen Rain Barrel Art Contest and transform a simple rain barrel into a unique masterpiece. Celebrate creativity, promote clean water, and showcase your artwork for a chance to win prizes—all while taking home a rain barrel that helps protect our watershed.

How It Works

  1. Register: Purchase your rain barrel and reserve your spot in the Rain Barrel Art Contest!
    - Your $35 registration fee includes one 55-gallon rain barrel to take home and decorate.
    - After registering, you will be contacted by the Conservancy to schedule a time to pick up your barrel at our office in Schwenksville.

  2. Paint: Take your barrel home and let your creativity shine!
    - You’ll have a few weeks to complete your design.
    - Participants are responsible for providing their own painting supplies.
    - We recommend using exterior acrylic or latex paint designed for outdoor use on plastic surfaces.

  3. Submit: When your masterpiece is complete, send us:
    - 3 - 5 photos of your completed barrel
    - Design title
    - Artist name
    - Short description of your artwork
    - Submission deadline: October 21

  4. Vote: Help us choose the Crowd Favorite!
    - Once submissions close, all entries will be posted online for public voting.
    - 1st, 2nd & 3rd Place: Selected by PWC staff
    - Crowd Favorite: Selected through public voting
    - Public voting: October 26 - 29
    - One vote per person.
    - Winners will receive prizes and, of course, bragging rights!
