How It Works
Register
Purchase your rain barrel and reserve your spot
- Includes 55 gallon drum
- Pick up at the Perkiomen Watershed Conservancy office

Take your barrel home and let your creativity shine
- You’ll have two weeks to complete your design
- Participants are responsible for providing their own painting supplies
- We recommend using exterior acrylic or latex paint designed for outdoor use on plastic surfacesSubmit

Contest Rules

The contest is open to participants of all ages. (Participants under 18 must have permission from a parent or guardian.)
Individuals, families, schools, scout troops, community groups, and businesses are welcome to participate.

Artwork must be original and family-friendly.
Designs may feature any theme but should not contain offensive, discriminatory, or inappropriate content.
The rain barrel must remain fully functional. Please do not paint over the lid opening, overflow port, threaded fittings, or other functional components.

Participants are responsible for providing their own paint and supplies.
We recommend using exterior acrylic or latex paint designed for outdoor use on plastic surfaces.
An exterior primer and clear UV-resistant sealer are recommended to help protect your artwork.
Allow your painted barrel to dry completely before photographing and installing it.

Submit 3–5 high-quality photos of your completed rain barrel by the submission deadline.
Include your name (or team name), the title of your design, and a brief description of your artwork.
Photos should clearly show the finished barrel from multiple angles.

All eligible entries will be featured in an online gallery on the Perkiomen Watershed Conservancy website.
The public will vote online for their favorite design during the designated voting period.
Winners will be announced on the Conservancy's website and social media channels.

Participants keep their completed rain barrel after the contest.
By entering the contest, participants grant the Perkiomen Watershed Conservancy permission to use submitted photographs and artist information in promotional materials, including the Conservancy's website, social media, newsletters, and other publications.
Participants retain ownership of their artwork.
