Lower Providence Township Rain Barrel Workshop
Build Your Own Rain Barrel Workshop
Join us for a hands-on workshop where you’ll learn how to build and install a rain barrel at home! Each participant will leave with a fully assembled rain barrel, ready to install and start using right away.
Rain barrels collect rainwater from your downspout for reuse around your home, perfect for watering plants, cleaning yard equipment, or other outdoor needs. This simple, sustainable solution helps reduce household water use while also decreasing stormwater runoff.
All materials and tools will be provided, including a 55-gallon hard plastic drum. Staff will guide you step by step through the building and installation process, making this workshop beginner-friendly.
Perkiomen Creek Sojourn
Explore the scenic beauty and hidden treasures of the Perkiomen. Do some boulder dodging. Battle the dams and rapids. Chat with old friends and make some new ones. Lunch, shuttles and rentals provided… Hit the EASY BUTTON and join us for this super fun day on the water!

The Bats in your Backyard
Have you ever wondered about bats? Ever looked skyward just after sunset and seen their tiny leathery wings flapping in the twilight and wanted to know more? Join us for an evening of wonder as we learn about these incredible creatures of the night!
Our educator Jeff will help you separate fact from fiction, dispelling some of the many myths that persist about these misunderstood animals. You’ll learn what bats live in PA, some of the threats they face, and why they are so important to our ecosystems.
And thanks to Pennsylvania Bat Conservation & Rehabilitation, you’ll have the opportunity to witness the release of real live bats, back into their natural habitat!
Wild Women Wellness Day
This is the moment you’ve been waiting for… sound the trumpets… throw the confetti… call your friends… it’s time for the 2026 Wild Women Wellness Day at Green Lane Park!! We have another action-packed day in store with yoga, paddling, hiking and more! Join us at Green Lane Park on Saturday, June 13th from 9 am to 3 pm. Botany by Boat
Love Plants? Love Kayaking? This program smashes them together for an unforgettable field experience. Join us for this one-of-a-kind program led by Naturalist Kathy Salisbury on Green Lane Reservoir. This is your chance to get out on the water AND totally geek out on PA Natives!
NO kayaking experience necessary. Cost includes kayak rental (with paddle and pfd - of course). Note: You must use our kayaks due to the vessel quarantine restrictions on the reservoir.

Red Hill Borough Stormwater Workshop
Join the Perkiomen Watershed Conservancy at Red Hill Borough Hall to learn about all things stormwater! This interactive workshop will explore the problems associated with stormwater runoff and practical ways you can reduce runoff at home.
Topics will include adding native plants to your yard, using environmentally friendly lawn and garden maintenance practices, installing a rain barrel, and other simple strategies that help protect local waterways.
Participants will leave with practical ideas and resources they can use to reduce stormwater runoff and make their backyard more environmentally friendly.

Rain Garden Workshop at Perkiomen Valley Brewery
Join us for a Rain Garden Workshop hosted at Perkiomen Valley Brewery and learn how to manage those pesky wet areas in your yard - including how to install a beautiful and functional backyard rain garden.
Rain gardens are shallow, bowl-shaped gardens designed to capture rainwater and allow it to slowly soak into the ground rather than becoming polluted runoff. Planted with deep-rooted native species, these gardens can handle both wet and dry conditions while providing valuable habitat for pollinators and wildlife.
Our Director of Conservation will lead you through the process of designing, installing and maintaining a backyard rain garden so you can confidently create your own at home!

Native Plant Sale!
In-Person Native Plant Sale & Pre-Order Pick-up: An in-person Native Plant Sale will be held on Saturday, May 9th, from 9:00 am - 4:00 pm and Sunday, May 10th, 9:00 am - 1:00 pm. The Sale will be held outside of our greenhouse located at Dragonfly Farm located at Jacob Reiff Park in Lower Salford Township. Please park in the designated parking location and follow signs for the Native Plant Sale.
All pre-ordered plants are to be picked-up from the lawn outside of the greenhouse. While pre-ordering, you will be asked to select a pick-up time on either May 10th or May 11th for your order. If you cannot pick-up during available pick-up times, please reach out to Beth Myers to make other arrangements.
Almost all species listed during pre-ordering will be available in limited quantities at the in-person Native Plant Sale. Species that were not listed for pre-order will also be available, in addition to native trees and shrubs from Behmerwald Nursery.
Lawn to Garden Workshop at the Native Plant Sale
Learn about the many benefits of native plants and the environmental costs of traditional “lawn culture.” This session will cover practical methods for reducing lawn area, expanding native garden space and designing a landscape that supports biodiversity. Each participant will receive a coupon good for the purchase of 3 perennials at our Native Plant Sale on May 9th & 10th.

Lenape Challenge
Here it is… the BEST RACE of the year… and this year it’s going to be FAST!! We’re taking all of the things you LOVE about the Lenape Challenge and packing them into a more streamlined version… just like stuffing an elephant into a sports car!
We’ll start with a quad-pumpin’ 5k run along the Perkiomen and up over Spring Mountain, then take to the water for a paddle-splittin’ 4k down the creek. This is more FUN than you can shake a stick at… Don’t miss it!!

Perkiomen Stream Cleanup
Every April, the Conservancy hosts a single-day watershed-wide event focused on removing litter, tires and other debris from regional waterways. This event brings together volunteers who work collaboratively to clean-up streamside sites, parks and open spaces throughout the watershed.
Since its creation in 2004, the Perkiomen Stream Clean-up has grown to become the largest single-day stream clean-up in the state of Pennsylvania with 1,770 volunteers participating in 2025!
