Community & Corporate Group Volunteer Opportunities
Throughout the year, many corporate groups and community organizations partner with the Conservancy to complete various conservation and service projects across the watershed. We love getting to work with local organizations and business and partnering with the Conservancy provides a great opportunity for team building while helping your group meet service hour requirements. MLK Day of Service 2026
Join us at our greenhouse on MLK day to clean, organize, sow seeds and more in preparation for the many projects we have lined up for 2026! Learn more and sign-up to volunteer below:
Perkiomen Plant-A-Thon (September - November):
Every fall we host the Perkiomen Plant-A-Thon, an annual watershed-wide event where volunteers help plant 5,000 native trees, shrubs and perennials within the Perkiomen watershed. From tree plantings to rain gardens and streambank restoration projects, there is sure to something that you enjoy! Learn more about the Plant-A-Thon by clicking the button below:
European Water Chestnut Removal (May - Mid-August)
Every summer, we manage infestations of invasive European water chestnut (EWC) within the watershed. We rely on volunteers to help us hand-pull EWC from local water bodies before it drops its seed in the fall. Learn more about how to get involved in this important conservation initiative below:
Event Support (Year-Round)
We host a variety of outdoor recreational events throughout the year and we need volunteers to help with registration, course direction, refreshments, etc. To learn more about these events and how to get involved, click on the buttons below:
Native Plant Project (Weekly on Wednesdays)
Native plants are truly at the heart of all the conservation work that we do at the Conservancy! Volunteers help us to maintain past project sites, sow and transplant native species in our greenhouse. Want to learn more about our Native Plant Project? Click on the button below:
Perkiomen Stream Clean-up (April):
Our annual Perkiomen Stream Clean-up is the largest single-day clean up event in Pennsylvania and we need YOUR help to keep breaking records! Clean-up sites are located throughout the watershed so its easy to find a site that works for you. Learn more about the Clean-up by clicking the button below:
Career Study (High School Students)
The Perkiomen Watershed Conservancy hosts a small number of local high school students looking to fulfill Career Study and Job Shadowing program requirements during the school year. For inquiries, please contact our Director of Ecology, Beth Myers.
Youth Conservation Corps (High School Students)
The Perkiomen Watershed Youth Conservation Corps (PWCC) gives high school students an opportunity to cultivate their own conservation and community engagement skills through participation in hands-on service learning experiences. This six-month program helps students understand and further the mission of the Perkiomen Watershed Conservancy to protect the watershed’s land and water resources.

Student Volunteer Opportunities
Our student and youth volunteers play a vital role in supporting Conservancy’s work! Students and young community members can get involved with many of our individual and group volunteer opportunities listed above, as well as programs and service-learning experiences designed specially for students. Summer Assistant Program (Students Grade 7 - 12)
With our Summer Assistant program, we offer a service learning opportunity for individuals who have completed 7th through 12th grade. Summer Assistants help our Educators guide pre-K through grade 6 summer campers as they explore the watershed, exercise creativity through crafts and games, and build enduring friendships!
Conservation Interns (College Students or Recent Grads)
Throughout the year we offer Internship positions for college students looking to gain hands-on experience in the environmental fields of conservation, ecological restoration, invasive species management and environmental education.
