European Water Chestnut Removal Workday

  • 613 Harleysville Pike Telford, Pennsylvania, 18969 United States (map)

Event Details
Help us remove invasive European water chestnut from a local pond in Telford. We will be wading or kayaking into the pond, hand pulling and bagging the plant and composting onsite. Removing this invasive aquatic plant helps to restore habitat for native plants and wildlife while improving the health of the pond's ecosystem - and we can't do it without your help!

What to Wear / Bring

  • Please wear clothes and shoes that can get dirty and wet.

  • Waders will be provided but volunteers are encouraged to bring their own pair if they have them.

  • Some kayaks will also be provided, but volunteers can bring their own boat if they have one.

  • Bring plenty of water, a hat, sunscreen and a lunch with you if you plan to stay for the full time.

  • Bring a towel or change of clothes with you in case you get wet!
