In keeping with the Perkiomen Watershed
Conservancy's mission, this unique race celebrates
the connection between land and water. The course
starts at the Conservancy's Brownstone Barn and
winds through 3.5 miles of beautiful rolling hills to
the base of Spring Mountain.
Racers then head on a .5 mile jaunt up the mountain, followed, not surprisingly, by .5 mile run/slide down
the other side of the mountain.
If there’s anything left in your legs, you get to enjoy
another 1.2 mile run along the banks of the lovely
Perkiomen. For the last 2.5 miles back to the
Conservancy, you and your teammate will experience
the Perkiomen up close (sometimes really close)
in a canoe!
Sound like fun? All participants will head home with
a 100% organic cotton t-shirt featuring the new
Lenape Challenge logo!
Pre-registration required - deadline is April 20, 2012
Must be 16 years of age (with parent consent) or older to participate.
Canoes, paddles + life vests provided
Would you like to try the Lenape Challenge
but are not yet 16? Maybe running 5.7 miles
then slogging down the Perkiomen
seems like a lot?
Try the Spring Mt. Scramble!
It’s just the mountain portion of the Challenge,
a half mile up and half mile back down.
Whether you're up for speed
or a leisurely hike - it's your choice!
Bring family and friends and
support the Conservancy!
The Scramble will start at the same time
as the Lenape Challenge. At the finish,
you'll be in a prime viewing spot
to cheer for those crazy Lenape racers
as they come down the mountain
and a few minutes later as
they head into canoes for the
paddle down the Perkiomen!
Pre-registration and
registration on event day available
All ages welcome!
