We all know that trees provide oxygen to breathe, shade on a sunny day and places for birds to nest.
But do you know that trees growing beside a stream or creek (called a “riparian buffer”) can improve the water you drink, prevent flooding, provide better habitat for fish, and increase property values?
Join us for a FREE presentation given by John Jackson, PhD from the Stroud Water Research Center, who will explain what riparian buffers are and why they are so valuable to everyone that breathes, drinks, eats, walks, flies, swims, crawls and slithers!
We will also discuss the upcoming riparian buffer planting project in Lower Salford Township, scheduled for this October 2009.
