| Linda Oltman has been teaching classes for PWC for 4 years. She originally discovered the watershed when she began bringing her daughters for programs. After her girls all entered school, Linda approached Trudy about becoming an educator. |
 |
When asked about her philosophy of Environmental Education, Linda replied:
"Kids today spend too much time indoors with their electronic gadgets. I believe this is leading to a generation disconnected with the natural world. I believe that children have a natural curiosity about the environment and just need adults who are willing to help them discover it."
Linda's favorite things about working at PWC are being outdoors and teaching children about something she is passionate about. She loves seeing children get excited about nature, and she enjoys working with other great people who care about our environment.
Linda and her husband, Steve, have three daughters, ages 14, 10, and 7. The Oltman Family has resided in Collegeville for 16 years.
Linda is an active and amazing steward in her community. She has a certified therapy dog who joins her on visits to area nursing homes. Linda participates in a program which encourages kids to read. She is currently a Girl Scout leader for two troops, a position she has served in for over 9 years. She coaches soccer, basketball, and softball, and in her spare time (ha-ha!) she enjoys gardening.
Linda holds a BS in Biochemical Technology.
