Environmental education programming plays a vital role in carrying out the Conservancy's holistic watershed preservation approach. Our carefully crafted programs, designed by educators with over 100 years experience in the field, reach a variety of audiences. Our community outreach programs begin at age 2½ and progress to include adult and teacher education workshops. Energetic public/private school and organized group programs continue to receive rave reviews from students, teachers, and administrative staff in the surrounding school districts. All of our classes assist teachers in fulfilling the Pennsylvania Department of Education's (PDE) Academic Standards for "Environment and Ecology." We are proud to serve students in the Perkiomen Valley, Souderton, North Penn, Boyertown, Spring-Ford, Upper Perkiomen, Wissahickon, Pennridge, Owen J. Roberts, Archdiocese of Philadelphia, and Methacton Area School Districts.
Environmental Education Director, Trudy Phillips, was the recipient of the 2003 Early Childhood Professional Education Award presented by Scholastic Books. Out of 350 nominees across the nation, Trudy was recognized for her excellence in producing and promoting quality educational experiences for children.
