Wildflowers of the Perkiomen

Exciting news! Link Davis, known by the Botany Section participants for his love of plants, insects, and photography, has agreed to launch our 2008 season with a presentation of wildflowers present in the Perkiomen Creek Watershed. Please join us on Wednesday, April 16, 2008 at 7:00 pm in the Conservancy’s historic brownstone barn for this journey amongst fields, forests and wetlands. In the past, Link has captivated us with his knowledge of, and appreciation for this area’s numerous species. The images he captures throughout the seasons are breathtaking. In addition, Val Udell, Botany Walk leader, will fill us in on the upcoming 2008 schedule and will also offer an accompanying field walk which will take place on Saturday morning, April 19, 9:30 pm at Stone Hills Wildlife Preserve in Limerick! Attend one or both, you are sure to be in for a treat!

Light refreshments will be served.
Pre-registration is required.
Fee: $7 Members/$10 Non-Members.
For more information and/or registration, please call 610.287.9383.

Feathered Friends of the Perkiomen Creek Watershed

It is with great joy that we welcome back some of our Spring migrants in late February/early March! To prepare for their return we have asked local Spring Mountain birder and Ursinus College Lecturer, Marcia Clouser, to join us Wednesday evening, March 12 at 7:00 pm at the Perkiomen Watershed Conservancy’s brownstone barn. During her presentation we will have a chance to view images of ducks, hawks, eagles and passerines whose return heralds the rising temperatures of an impatient spring. Marcia’s love for birds is well-known throughout the Perkiomen Creek Watershed area where she has led bird walks for more years than she can remember. We invite you to share in our excitement at the return of our feathered friends and take this opportunity to brush up on your identification skills!

Light refreshments will be served.
Pre-registration required.
Fee: $7 Members/$10 Non-Members.
For more information and/or registration, please call 610.287.9383.
